SUMMARY
Applies principles of accounting in accordance with GAAP to direct the activity of the staff accountants, analyze financial information and prepare financial reports within multiple organizational entities - Manchester Bidwell Corporation, Manchester CraftsmenÕs Guild, Bidwell Training Center, Harbor Gardens Park & Manchester Bidwell Development Trust.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include, and are not strictly limited to, the following:
- Reviews and substantiates transaction entries prior to posting to accounting systems (spreadsheets, journal entries and month-end reports.)
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
- Develops and maintains schedules/reconciliations for accounts such as: salary allocations, balance sheet accounts, earned revenue sales and grant activity.
- Performs the monthly closing process for one or more of the related entities
- Analyzes numerous grant agreements and award letters to determine proper accounting treatment and compliance requirements.
- Develops and maintains temporarily restricted net asset schedules.
- Maintains and reconciles fixed assets and related accumulated depreciation schedules.
- Oversees reconciliation of payroll liability accounts.
- Balances inter-company accounts receivable/payable and prepares related entries as required.
- Analyzes inter-company transactions and prepares consolidated elimination entries.
- Provides assistance to Director of Finance and/or CFO in budgeting & financial analysis.
- Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for review by the Director of Finance.
- Identifies deficiencies in internal control and develops new procedures as necessary.
- Researches, documents and maintains accounting policies and procedures as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
B.S. in Accounting and minimum of 4 years previous related experience required. C.P.A. or extensive experience in a grant based non-profit environment preferred. Knowledge of accounting software and strong Excel skills required. Strong reporting experience and 2 years public accounting experience a plus.
