20 Years of Jazz

Surrounded by light-industrial buildings and UPS terminal trucks, Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild does not appear to be a home to world-famous jazz musicians. Yet it is the site of a celebration of 20 years of concerts by stars from the late Dizzy Gillespie to guitar whiz Pat Metheny.
It is the headquarters of a company that has won three Grammy Awards and the home of an effort to boost the music genre’s popularity. Moving into its third decade in those roles, its leaders seem to want to make its activities even harder to miss. (more…)
