One of our philosophical tenets at Manchester Bidwell is that “Creativity Fuels Enterprise.” We know that commercial concepts may be applied to business structures whose goal is to improve the human condition. We manifest this belief in numerous ways – through music, through flora, through real estate and rentals, and through art and product sales.
Non-profit does not have to mean an organization is always in the red. Our mix of enterprises creates revenue for the organization that can be used to supplement our existing financials. With this income, we can maintain and improve our facilities and programming.
Our main enterprises are:
- MCG Jazz – an affiliate of Manchester Bidwell Corporation – We preserve, promote and present jazz music through live concerts, archival recordings and educational programming.
- The Drew Mathieson Center for Horticultural and Agricultural Technology – a division of Manchester Bidwell Corporation– Serving two purposes, our 40,000 square foot complex supports training in the plant sciences and educational outreach to local youth, as well as being a production greenhouse producing orchids and other specialty crops for wholesale.
- Our Gift Shop – part of Manchester Bidwell Corporation – Whether you are looking for an original piece of ceramics by a student, a recording by a GRAMMY award winning jazz master, a single orchid, or a cool water bottle, our gift shop has something for you, your family, friends and community.
